An allocation of 60 million dirhams to complete the complementary urban rehabilitation program for the under-equipped districts of Dakhla
Dakhla – Minister of National Territory Preparation, Reconstruction, Housing and City Policy, Ms. Nozha Bouchareb, said today, Friday in Dakhla, that the ministry had allocated 60 million dirhams for the completion of the complementary urban rehabilitation program for the underserved neighborhoods of Dakhla.
Ms. Bouchareb explained, in a speech during a communication meeting with professionals on “the take-off plan for the sector of national territory preparation, reconstruction, housing and city policy in the region of Dakhla – Wadi al-Dahab ”, that this program, the work of which began in 2018, is being completed and the work has reached an advanced stage.
The minister indicated that 39 million dirhams have also been allocated to eliminate unsuitable housing in Dakhla, as part of the agreement relating to the urban rehabilitation program of the city of Dakhla and the emerging centers of the Valley region of Gold.
She added that the ministry has allocated around 750 million dirhams under the 2007-2015 new housing construction and reconstruction program, which includes retail, housing construction, urban rehabilitation, neighborhood restructuring. under-equipped and support for self-construction operations.
She underlined that the urban rehabilitation programs and the restructuring of the under-equipped districts of the region have contributed in a tangible way to the improvement of the living conditions of the population, through the completion of the basic equipment concerning the works of roads, public places, green spaces, public services and the liquid sanitation network.
Ms. Bouchareb stressed that these programs had a positive and direct impact on the population, thus declaring Dakhla city without slums in 2010, and a diversified housing offer was proposed and adapted to the needs of the population as part of a strategy proactive in fighting against the phenomenon of insufficient housing.
For his part, the governor of the region of Dakhla – Wadi al-Dahab, the agent of the Gold Valley, Lamine Benomar, confirmed that this meeting was an opportunity to listen to all stakeholders to know their compulsions and suggestions in order to advance the reconstruction policy and improve it in the region, as it is inherent in investment and wealth creation, and for its essential role in raising development indicators Humanity, improving the living conditions of the population and promoting global development issues.
Mr. Benomar called for finding solutions to some of the difficulties facing the construction and housing sector and facilitating investment procedures, stressing the need to mentor and qualify professionals in the sector, to develop and to strengthen the skills of players in the construction trades and all trades in the sector, and to take into account regional specificity in the development of regulations related to the sector, and to distribute and update Longevity documents.
For his part, the head of the Dakhla – Wadi al-Dahab region, Khattab Yinga, said that the uploading of the directions of the new development model for the southern regions and of the integrated development program of the region that resulted from it , as well as the programs and projects included in the framework of the regional development program, have contributed to the intensification and acceleration of economic and social dynamism in this region. Which aspires to become an economic hub and a vital center of commerce and social exchanges with the countries of sub-Saharan Africa and the rest of the countries of the continent.
He added that these programs and projects would help strengthen the competitiveness of the entity, increase its attractiveness, strengthen its capacity to face all the challenges and issues and meet the aspirations of the population by improving development indicators. and by following the promising economic prospects resulting from the successive and accelerated developments experienced by the Kingdom’s first national issue.
In turn, the director of the Urban Agency of Dakhla – Wadi al-Dahab, Moulay M’hamed Hamo, made a presentation in which he presented the take-off plan for the preparation of the national territory, the reconstruction, the housing and city politics in the Dakhla region and the Gold Valley.
For their part, some of the speakers reviewed the most important difficulties and constraints facing the construction and housing sector in Dakhla – Wadi al-Dahab, stressing the importance of adopting a participatory approach. in order to find solutions to revive the sector, in particular the effects linked to the outbreak of the pandemic (Covid-19) and to work on the formulation of proposals A process to achieve the expected objectives.
This meeting was attended, in particular, by the worker of the region of Awsard Abd al-Rahman al-Gohary, heads of elected councils, a number of officials from the Ministry of National Land Preparation, Construction, housing and politics, elected officials and leaders of foreign interests, as well as professionals and stakeholders in the construction and housing sector.
