Who wants to buy Pierre Gasly's Formula 1 Toro Rosso in 2019? 4

If you dream of owning a Formula 1 car and you are a fan of Pierre Gasly, now is the time to pull out the checkbook. His single-seater from the 2019 season is currently on sale.

Anyone who has ever wanted to buy Formula 1 collectibles knows that it is usually quite expensive. However, this Scuderia Toro Rosso STR14 for sale on Race Cars Direct is probably the most expensive collector’s item around right now. But it’s also one of the most amazing collectibles an F1 fan can own. The STR14 was driven by Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly in the 2019 season for a total of 17 races, one of which resulted in a podium for Gasly in Brazil. Indeed, the young tricolor had finished second, just in front of Lewis Hamilton after being demoted from Red Bull to Toro Rosso in the middle of the season. Thus, the STR14 in question would be the second most decorated car in the 14-year history of the team. In front of it is the STR3 of 2008 in which Sebastian Vettel obtained a first place.

This particular STR14 is chassis 04, which was exactly the one in which Gasly reached his podium. It is being sold as a rolling chassis, which means that it will not come with the full set of a 2019 Formula 1 of the year. Yet given that the car was from the fifth season of the turbo era -hybrid, a turbocharged 1.6L V6 paired with a hybrid system should normally have been installed in its engine compartment.

Almost complete?

That little detail aside, the single-seater comes complete with all the original radiators and hoses and also includes the racing steering wheel, a Toro Rosso car cover and Gasly’s custom seat (even though it’s number d ‘Albon on the car). In addition, the gearbox, pedals, brakes, steering system and DRS mechanism are all in working order.

There’s no listed price, but we’re betting it’s probably one of the most expensive racing items ever sold. Moreover, we can not deny the interest we have in this car, especially to know how many modern F1 cars like this one are selling. Case to follow.
