After unveiling the adventurer version of the BMW X7 just before the end of last year, Manhart now presents the most extreme version of the BMW X5 M Competition.
This X5 is not afraid of anything. Not even an M8 Competition. And for good reason: it has been heavily modified. First of all, its engine block has received a small update: new mapping, new turbos. The cooling system has also been revised to allow it to develop the trifle of 823 horsepower and 1080 Nm of torque. This is good progress for this 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 which develops 625 horsepower and 750 Nm as standard. The German preparer has not announced the new performances of this mastodon, but the reference time on the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is surely faster than before.
However, the X5 M Competition already only needs 3.8 seconds to reach this speed and can accelerate up to 250 km / h or 290 km / h if you opt for the “M Driver” pack. Again, the “Manhart sauce” should certainly work wonders and increase the V-Max.
Looked and equipped
To better cope with all this power, the eight-speed automatic transmission has also been improved, while the specific suspension installed by the tuner from Wuppertal allows the body to be lowered by 30 mm. Manhart also installed a stainless steel exhaust system with valve and four tailpipes.
As for its appearance, the supercharged X5 M Competition which was renamed MHX5 800 by the German company is painted black with gold stripes. This is the typical livery of vehicles prepared by Manhart. We also note that the preparer of Wuppertal has equipped his X5 doped with hormones with some new elements: bonnet, roof spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and mirror caps in carbon fiber. We can also mention the specific 22 inch forged rims.
Inside, Manhart also used the same color code as the outside, but also added some carbon fiber trim and his logo on the steering wheel.
