The future Volkswagen ID.6 is a large 100% electric family SUV which should be presented this year: first photos were unveiled in advance!
It will be the third vehicle of the ID range 100% electric vehicles from Volkswagen. After the compact ID.3 and the ID.4 SUV, here is the future ID.6: a large family SUV, which was foreshadowed by the Volkswagen ID.Roomz concept.
The site Carscoops Already reveals the first photos of the model, from a data leak from China. In line with the other models in Volkswagen’s ID range, the ID.6 adopts fluid and clean lines, with a more imposing front end animated by a large (and false) air intake in the lower part of the shield.
Volkswagen ID.6 (2022): a large SUV for families
The rear is marked by a large shiny black band, connecting the two optics and visually expanding the whole. The aluminum-like insert on the rear apron contributes to this style effect, and gives the model more presence.
According to technical information that was also leaked, the ID.6 will measure 4.88 meters long, for a wheelbase of 2.97 meters, i.e. no less than 292 mm more than the ID.4, with more generous space on board for passengers, allowing the model to offer up to seven seats. The 100% electric motorization should develop 204 horses, with a 306 horsepower four-wheel-drive variant.
The Volkswagen ID.6 is expected to be unveiled later this year, ahead of expected commercialization for the year 2022.
