The Volkswagen Golf GTI celebrates its 45th anniversary with a special Clubsport 45 series. On the program, 300 horsepower under the hood, an electronic differential and a special livery.
Since its launch in 1976, the Volkswagen Golf GTI has become both a benchmark for sporty compact sedans and a huge sales box with 2.3 million units sold across all generations.
To celebrate its 45th anniversary, Volkswagen is presenting a special series based on the sulphurous Clubsport version. Logically, the GTI Clubsport 45 uses the 4-cylinder turbo 300 hp allowing it a maximum speed exceeding the usual electronic limit of 250 km / h. And to move this cavalry to the front wheels, an electronic differential is provided as standard.
Almost 50,000 euros!
Aesthetically, the Clubsport 45 is dressed with larger air intakes, a roof spoiler specially designed for the occasion as well as a sports exhaust system. The car comes in a black livery with 19 inch rims and 45 lettering added to the side sills.
Finally, the interior receives GTI logos on the backrests of the front seats as well as a “45” affixed to the base of the steering wheel. Orders will be open from March 1 at a price starting at 47,790 euros in Germany.
