If the Stig’s drift videos always make us happy, this special sequence shot on the famous Top Gear circuit is even more impressive. His mount of the day: the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series in its Orange Magma colourway.

Obviously, the new AMG GT Black Series is hungry for burnt rubber! The Top Gear track is renowned for determining which car is the fastest. Hundreds of cars have traveled the route. But what happens when the timer stops and the film crew goes home? Well, a new video posted to the Top Gear YouTube channel shows it to us … and it looks as fun as you might expect. In this sequence, the Stig gets behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series on the course and there is a lot of smoke behind it.

The most powerful Mercedes of all time has a blast! The AMG GT Black Series uses its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 to burn gum on the track, leaving a cloud of smoke behind. The block develops 730 horsepower which is all sent to the rear wheels via a reinforced seven-speed DCT gearbox. With 800 Nm of torque, it has no trouble slipping.

A circuit, tires and horses

The video is quite short, but it’s enough to give you the banana! Mercedes claims the car can reach 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 325 km / h. While the Stig doesn’t try to achieve that kind of performance in this video, you have to know it!

Also be aware that if you think that you would get it off by adopting such a behavior, this little pleasure does not come cheap. The AMG GT Black Series is expensive: almost 359,000 euros. That’s almost double the price of the already very powerful AMG GT R.
