A prototype of the upcoming Lamborghini Urus Evo has been spied on being tested in Italy. And as often, the Varryx spotter was present to give us a first glimpse.

It should be mentioned up front that the name ‘Urus Evo’ has not been confirmed and even though this name is used by the Italian SUV, it does not necessarily mean that it is a more violent variant and purified of the Urus. Instead, Lamborghini can simply refer to the restyled Urus with the name “EVO,” much like it was done with the Huracan Evo. As with other prototypes tested in recent weeks, this Urus is covered in camouflage aimed at hiding some of the exterior styling changes. Still, it’s reasonable to assume that Lamborghini will change a few fairings up front and back.

What make the “super-SUV” even more aggressive and sporty than the current model. In this video from YouTuber Varryx, the camouflaged Urus can be seen and heard exiting Lamborghini. Behind the wheel, there is probably an engineer who presses heavily on the accelerator. As a result, the sound of this small acceleration confirms that the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 of the current model will still be under the hood of this future evolution.

More horses?

It’s hard to be sure at this point, but we suspect that this V8 will develop more than the 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque it already has. Thus the Urus will certainly be able to reach 100 km / h even faster. As the current model only needs 3.6 seconds to swallow the benchmark sprint, Lamborghini will likely take care of lowering that number by a tenth of a second.

The introduction of the revamped model will also be synonymous with the arrival of the long-awaited hybrid variant. Details are still scarce about it, but it could produce over 700 horsepower and accelerate even faster. Better yet, with a 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3.5 seconds, it will even worry some supercars. Case to follow.
