Presented almost two years ago, it is time for the GR Supra to take advantage of a limited series of 90 copies. Toyota named it Jarama Racetrack Edition in reference to where it was presented to the press in 2019.
Regardless of its drag racing performance and the various modified versions, we haven’t heard anything about the new Toyota GR Supra since the start of the year. However, the Japanese automaker now has a new version, the GR Supra Jarama Racetrack Edition, named after the Spanish circuit which hosted the official media campaign of the new sportswoman in 2019. This edition will be limited to 90 copies, all destined for Europe.
Ready to be launched this spring, it has a “Horizon Blue” paint, some black elements, 19-inch alloy rims and red brake calipers. The interior sports black Alcantara upholstery and blue stitching as well as a special plaque on the instrument panel that reveals the production number alongside a sketch of the Spanish circuit. Standard equipment includes carbon fiber trims, an 8.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a 10-speaker audio system.
Well equipped ?
This special edition also features the full range of Toyota “Safety Sense +” driving aids, providing anti-collision braking assistance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane change alert, control. blind spots, recognition of traffic signs, adaptive cruise control… In short, it’s a modern-day Toyota with everything you need to ensure the safety of its occupants and other road users.
Power always comes from a 3.0-liter turbocharged in-line 6-cylinder engine, which develops 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, as in the launch version of the Supra. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels only. The GR Supra Jarama Racetrack Edition can speed up 0 to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds. Neither faster nor slower than the standard version.
“The unique and exclusive design elements, added to the great charisma of the GR Supra as a sports car will make the GR Supra Jarama Racetrack Edition a true collector’s item”Toyota said. Easy to say … we’ll see if the mayonnaise takes with the collectors concerned.
