Alpine’s future sporty city car could take the basis of the new Renault R5, while replacing the Clio RS.
In the shattering announcements of January 13, the big boss Luca de Meo announced a big technological turnaround for the Alpine brand. Instead of the sporty A110 with thermal engine, the sporting division of Renault will offer in the medium term a 100% electric range comprising three models: a replacement for the current A110, a compact SUV and a “segment B” model.
Alpine does not give more details for the moment on this model of segment B, which corresponds to the category of city cars (Renault Clio, Peugeot 208, ect …). But as Renault has also just unveiled its 5 Prototype, inspired by the design of the old R5, we imagine that the future Alpine city car could be the sporty version of this new generation Renault 5.
The Clio RS definitely buried
