New year, new standards, and therefore new range at Kia for the Stonic.

The small urban SUV of the Korean manufacturer wins two finishes and finds a missing engine.

After having benefited from a small restyling in 2020, the Kia crossover is still struggling to exist against the competition. And for good reason, it is in number and attracts customers more easily with a stronger identity. So, Kia decided to counter-attack in particular by bringing the GT Line and GT Line Premium finishes to make it more aggressive, even sporty. Aesthetically, it doesn’t change much, but it might just be enough to make a difference and strengthen her personality.

LED fog lights, a specific shield with GT Line badges, a rear bumper with two tailpipes, and 17-inch rims… This is enough to give the Stonic a little testosterone. As for its standard equipment, the top-of-the-range version named GT Line Premium even offers Full LED lights as standard. For the rest of the changes, it happens inside and under the hood!

And inside?

Inside, the Stonic 2021 benefits from several decorative carbon print inserts, a flat leather Sport steering wheel, Sports seats… In short, everything you need to accentuate its character and sportiness. But the biggest change is under the hood, as an engine is making a comeback.

The Stonic can now be equipped with the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine that develops 100 horsepower. This can be combined with a manual gearbox or an automatic dual-clutch as an option. Surprisingly, this small block does not benefit from any kind of hybridization, not even slightly. But nice surprise, it still escapes the penalty! The second surprise, despite a facelift at the beginning of the year, the Stonic is now available from 19,690 euros, it is 600 euros less than before, but it is also 20 horses and a light hybridization system less!
