Despite its 60 less horsepower, can the Audi RS 5 beat the all-new BMW M4? Well yes, it’s a surprise.
BMW has just launched a whole new generation of its M4 Coupe on the market. The machine now has a 3.0-liter turbo inline-six developing 510 horsepower in the Competition version, which is exactly the same power as its rival the Mercedes-AMG C63 S (with its twin-turbo 4.0 V8 liters).
The Audi RS 5, on the other hand, gives them 60 horsepower with its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 developing 450 horsepower. One would therefore imagine that in a straight line, the sportswoman of the brand with the rings was beaten quite easily by her two rivals.
Fairly easy victory
But we must not forget an important parameter: the Audi has four-wheel drive. During a standing start race, it is a big advantage of traction to start. This is how the RS 5 manages to beat the BMW (and the Mercedes) here. But beware, an all-wheel drive version of the M4 is coming soon …
