Skoda reveals the very first official image of the new and fourth Fabia, which is slated for presentation in spring 2021.
A little surprise from Skoda: the Czech manufacturer has just unveiled the whole first official image of the new Fabia. Launched in 2014 and restyled in 2018, the third generation of the city car must indeed give up its place later this year.
The new opus is revealed here in profile … and in the fog. Not really ideal for getting a clear idea of its design …
A bigger and more dynamic Fabia
A closer look, however, we see that this Fabia 4 will gain in stature, with visibly increased dimensions, but also in dynamism with more elegant and slender lines. He said to himself that the car could draw its inspiration from the small SUV Kamiq, while also incorporating some style elements of the Scala and Octavia.
A new platform for the city car
On the technical side, the new Fabia will be based on the Volkswagen group’s MQB-A0 platform, already used for the Volkswagen Polo or the Seat Ibiza in particular, which will allow it to offer more interior space. The trunk volume, for example, is announced up by more than 50 liters compared to the current model.
Latest generation technologies
Under the hood, the manufacturer will offer the latest-generation petrol engines, which will be coupled with a 7-speed manual or automatic transmission (DSG7). The diesel supply will still be non-existent.
At end of new security and connectivity systems are also announced.
The presentation of the new Skoda Fabia is expected for spring 2021.
