To carry out its missions, should the National Gendarmerie invest in Tesla brand vehicles?
The National Gendarmerie regularly places new calls for tenders to replace its car fleets. And in recent years, it has multiplied (like the national police) orders for 100% electric vehicles. Why ? In particular because, as a public administration, it must renew its fleet of cars to 50% with models emitting less than 60 grams of CO2 per kilometer. In other words, it must invest in electric or rechargeable hybrid vehicles with large batteries.
This is why we recently mentioned the possibility of seeing the police equip themselves with plug-in hybrid vehicles from Peugeot: to complete the recent fleets of Seat Leon Cupra, 508 PSE or 3008 Hybrid 4 could arrive as reinforcements. The first has 360 horsepower and the second 300 full-round horsepower, via a hybrid powertrain.
A Tesla Model 3 Performance, the ideal tool?
But a car like the Peugeot 508 PSE still costs more than € 67,000. This is why we wonder if in a 100% electric genre, a car like the Tesla Model 3 Performance could not be suitable for multipurpose missions and rapid interception as well. It costs “only” 59,990 €, can cut down from 0 to 100 km / h in just over three seconds, go at over 260 km / h and cover more than 400 km on a single charge. With its performance superior to that of plug-in hybrids at the same price, it is also comfortable and spacious. So what if she was the perfect police intercept car? As for the Seat Leon Cupra which made a lot of talk in high places, the foreign origin of the vehicle could however represent a big blocking point …
