The new and fourth generation of Mitsubishi Outlander is revealed in video during its development phase. Arrival scheduled for February 16.
The new Mitsubishi Outlander is here again. Announced at the end of last year with a first shot, the fourth generation of the Japanese SUV is back. It shows itself in photos and video during the final phase of its development.
Still largely hidden behind a thick camouflage, the car does not reveal much of its plastic but nevertheless promises “to offer the highest level of handling and superb driving performance”.
Handy, safe and efficient
And to prove this, it is tested on all types of surfaces (dirt, mud, track, etc.) and in the most extreme weather conditions. Discover the new Outlander in video.
The new Outlander will notably benefit from a new all-wheel drive system and will be larger than its predecessor, Mitsubishi said in a statement.
“We used all of our on-road and off-road driving knowledge, and rallying experiences. (…) We also specifically developed a new drive mode selector,” Kentaro added Honda, the chief engineer in charge of the new Outlander.
7 seats and plug-in hybrid
According to the first rumors, this new generation should gain several centimeters in length to be able to offer three rows of seats and thus be able to accommodate up to seven passengers on board.
On the engine side, the SUV should always be offered as a plug-in hybrid with a 2.4-liter petrol unit of 135 hp and two electric motors of 82 and 95 hp. The all-electric range, now displayed at some 45 kilometers, could however climb to 70 kilometers.
Confirmation – or not – expected on February 16, official date of presentation of this new Mitsubishi Outlander.
