Hyundai is launching its new Tucson in a plug-in hybrid version on the French market. Orders are open and prices start at € 43,900.
Unveiled in September 2020 and available for a few weeks on the French market in petrol and diesel versions with micro-hybridization (1.6 T-GDi 150 Hybrid 48V and 1.6 CRDi 136 Hybrid 48V) but also in simple hybrid (1.6 T-GDi Hybrid 230 ch), the new Hyundai Tucson is now also offered as a plug-in hybrid.
265 horsepower under the hood
Under its hood, the trendy SUV combines a 1.6-liter T-GDi petrol engine and an electric unit for a total power of 265 hp and 350 Nm of torque. This cavalry is sent to the four wheels (HTRAC all-wheel drive) via a six-speed automatic transmission (6AT)
The model also benefits from a 13.8 kWh lithium polymer battery which guarantees a range of more than 50 km in all-electric mode. Charging is done on a terminal for electric vehicles or on a home Wallbox via an on-board 7.2 kW charger.
Positioned under the floor, this battery does not prevent the Tucson PHEV from offering a spacious interior and a leg length of 955 mm. The trunk volume is however slightly lower compared to other versions. It is between 558 and 1,737 liters, against 577 to 1,756 liters in normal times.
Two trim levels
As for the range, the Tucson plug-in hybrid is not offered at launch with the “Intuitive” level. It starts with the “Creative” intermediate finish. It is richly equipped since it includes 19-inch alloy rims as standard, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a reversing camera, cruise control / speed limiter, heated front seats, a digital 10 instrument cluster. , 25 inches and a multimedia system with 10.25 inch touch screen and voice recognition. Let’s not forget also GPS navigation, blind spot monitoring with active lane change assistance, driver fatigue detection, front and rear parking assistance, rear cross traffic alert and even more. a wireless charger for smartphones.
The top of the range “Executive” adds tri-zone automatic air conditioning, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, rear parking aid with braking function, camera display of the blind spots, rear passenger presence alert, active highway driving assistance, a 360 ° camera, remote parking exit control, hands-free tailgate and intelligent adaptive cruise control.
Orders are open and prices start at € 43,900 for the “Creative” finish and € 49,900 for the “Executive”. The first deliveries and the arrival in concession of the new Tucson PHEV are expected in spring 2021
