Kia will launch its first model only offered in electric drive. The EV6 will be based on the new E-GMP platform already used by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and will be unveiled on March 15.
Here is the EV6, Kia’s first 100% electric vehicle. For the first time, the manufacturer will not offer a thermal version to its model. The EV6 will be based on the new platform dedicated solely to the E-GMP electric powertrain that Hyundai already uses with its Ioniq 5.
A rather simple model name …
Regarding this EV6, Kia did not go very far in choosing the name of its model and it will do no less for the rest of the range. The term “EV” will be used for “Electric Vehicle” and the number behind will indicate its position in the range.
Kia’s EV6 should look like the Ioniq 5 with a rather large build. This new model could well approach the SUV range. And small novelty, it will carry the new logo of the manufacturer, this time the letters will be affixed directly on the body.
500 km of autonomy
The EV6 promises a range of 500 km and will be equipped with a 58 or 72.6 kWh battery. You can also charge your SUV in just twenty minutes thanks to the “ultra-fast charging” mode.
Kia is thinking big with the electric, the car brand is planning 500,000 annual sales by 2026. For now, we will have to be patient, Kia will reveal its first 100% electric model on March 15.
