The Hyundai-Kia group is bringing out the big game in terms of electric SUVs. After the Hyundai Ioniq 5, here is its cousin the Kia EV6. In both cases, the style appears bold.
A few days ago, Hyundai lifted the veil on the first member of its new Ioniq division, the Ioniq 5. Family electric SUV, the machine displayed a completely disconcerting style with its compact proportions with straight features and its inspirations from the 80s.
This time it’s Kia’s turn to show off its family electric SUV, a close cousin of the Ioniq 5 and big brother of the e-Niro and other e-Souls. The EV6 takes over the platform (E-GMP), chassis, electrical architecture and engines of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, but with a radically different style. In a very different genre from the Ioniq 5, the EV6 is also very original, particularly from the angle of the three quarterback.
A more classic interior
The interior, refined and equipped with a dashboard with a very horizontal design, is more classic. It has a touch screen with haptic feedback to the touch, as in Audi. For the moment, Kia does not reveal any technical figures on this new rival of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Volkswagen ID.4, Skoda Enyaq iV and other recent Nissan Ariya. But the range of engines and performance should remain close to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (between 170 and 306 horsepower). The manufacturer will give more details in a few days.
