Jaguar Classic presents the “60 Collection” series limited to twelve examples of the Jaguar Type E, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the model presented in 1961.
Following the launch of the Jaguar F-Type 60 Heritage which celebrates 60 years of the E-Type, Jaguar Classic unveiled a special edition anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type limited to twelve copies, is six couples 3.8-liter E-Type, inspired by the “9600 HP” coupe and “77 RW” convertible models presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961.
Jaguar Type E 60 Collection: exclusive liveries
These models have been restored by the historical department of the firm, according to strict specifications and specially developed for the occasion. The coupe sports an “Opalescent Gunmetal Gray” tint, while the convertible is painted “British Racing Green”, colors inspired by the 1961 versions and which have not since been used on any other Jaguar model.
Jaguar Classic has also optimized the mechanics of these E-Type with a five-speed synchronized manual gearbox, with helical gears and a reinforced cast aluminum housing. The XK inline six from 3.8 liters and 265 horsepower is equipped with an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, an electronic ignition as well as a polished stainless steel exhaust.
A infotainment system with GPS navigation and Bluetooth connectivity is also present inside, and we find a Jaguar logo “1961-2021” accompanied bya special engraving made by artist King Nerd, inspired by the two models’ journey between Coventry and Geneva, when they were launched in 1961.
These twelve Jaguar E-Type “60 Collection” will be only sold in pairs to six happy clients and collectors, who will be invited to relive this epic at an event inviting them to link Coventry to Geneva, during the delivery of models in summer 2022. The price of this exceptional edition has not been revealed by the British firm.
