is it a better deal than the Porsche Taycan? 4

Just put into orbit around the small planet of electric sports cars, the Audi e-tron GT unveils its prices and the composition of its range. It will therefore be necessary to pay at least 101,500 euros to afford the services of the sculptural sedan of the Rings … It is cheaper than an R8, but it does not do the same job.

The effect is guaranteed in terms of style, anyway. Under its Audi A7 air of the 2050s, the e-tron GT is a cruel reminder that the Tesla Model S (its number 1 enemy) soon has a 10-year career (much more for its technical base, completely obsolete from its launch) … And that even the Porsche Taycan could suffer from this ambitious cousin. Next to the e-tron GT, the Porsche would seem almost more timid, oddly enough. However, each one occupies a well-defined role in the Volkswagen group., sportiness being of course prevalent at Porsche, while the e-tron GT pays more into grand touring, as its name suggests.

The technical and performance sheets remain relatively close. Simply, where the e-tron range stops at 598 hp with the RS e-tron version (646 hp peak), Porsche is advancing a slightly more powerful Taycan Turbo (680 hp peak) and above all a violent Turbo S of 761 hp. The e-Tron GT range is structured as follows:

  • Audi e-tron GT 476 hp (530 hp in boost): 101,500 euros
  • Audi e-tron GT Extended: 122,000 euros
  • Audi RS e-tron GT 598 hp (646 hp in boost): 140,700 euros
  • Audi RS e-tron GT S Extended: 156,200 euros

Hound the Taycan, and bury the Tesla Model S

The e-tron therefore starts significantly higher than the basic Porsche Taycan (86,254 euros), which is satisfied with a lower power (408 hp) and a lower capacity battery. The Audi automatically has 93 kWh (86 kWh useful), against 79 kWh for the Porsche. This offers a Performance Plus battery, with the same capacity as the e-tron GT, for around 6,000 euros extra. For an equivalent version, a Taycan 4S therefore asks for 115,208 euros, or 14,000 euros more than the e-tron GT. Regarding the sporty RS version, its power is slightly lower than that of a Taycan Turbo, which requires 16,000 euros more for 34 additional hp. Hierarchy respected therefore, the e-tron GT is hardly less ruinous than the Taycan (and almost as fast …) with comparable version and equipment.

Facing Tesla, the e-tron GT is more expensive than the base Model S (89,900 euros for the Great Autonomy) but faster (2.5 s from 0 to 100 km / h, 0.7 tenths better). The announced autonomy is however lower (488 km, against 663 km), but the Audi is capable of reaching peak loads of 270 kW per hour. Even if very theoretical and not achieved in practice (the network is simply not capable of it), the technological tour de force is there.
