Hyundai announces in photos and video the upcoming arrival of a sporty version of the Kona, the Kona N.
On December 24, just a few hours before Christmas, through a few teaser photos posted on Instagram, Hyundai announced the imminent arrival of a new model in its N sports range. But at the time, the South Korean manufacturer has not yet revealed the identity of this mysterious vehicle.
Today, it is now done! Hyundai confirms, as we thought, that it will be a muscular version of the Kona. The Kona will be the first SUV to join the N family, which already includes the small i20 and the compact i30 in its ranks.
A 2L turbo engine and an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox
The brand also announces that this Kona N will be powered by a 2L turbo engine. If its power has not yet been communicated, it could however reach 275 hp, as on the i30 N.
Other information: this four-cylinder unit will be associated with an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox (N DCT8). And like other N models, the SUV will also benefit from launch control.
France deprived of Kona N?
No presentation date for the Kona N has yet been announced but the machine will certainly be unveiled and marketed later this year. It remains to be seen whether it will be available on the French market …
