A group of 45 supercars were arrested by police in Hong Kong over the weekend. The drivers were suspected of participating in a street race.
To great ills, great remedies ! In order to stop a horde of 45 supercars, Hong Kong police did not hesitate to close two lanes of traffic on the Island Eastern Corridor highway last Sunday.
An operation started at 7 am and carried out after many residents living near the highway complained about the noise “caused by racing cars”.
“It had been going on for quite some time, and was especially more serious after midnight or in the wee hours of weekends or holidays. The issue was also raised at district council meetings“said at South China Morning Post Eastern District Councilor Derek Ngai Chi-ho.
A real concession of supercars
It must be said that this thirsty pack of gasoline has something to impress: Ferrari F430 and 458, Porsche 911 and 911 GT2 RS, Nissan GT-R, AMG GT, McLaren 570S and a team of Lamborghini including a Murcielago SV, an Aventador SV and two Aventador SVJ.
Local media report that one of the Nissan GT-Rs was seized on suspicion of having been illegally modified. 9 other cars were inspected for the same reason. The authorities have not communicated the amount of the fines but we imagine that it should be salty!
