Hennessey to turn McLaren 765LT into 1,000-horsepower monster 4

Hennessey Performance Engineering is best known for optimizing American muscle cars, but the tuner can also transform supercars like the McLaren 765LT. Precisely, this one will become a monster.

As part of an upcoming project, the Texan company will push the already very powerful McLaren 765LT with over 1,000 horsepower. 1,014 horses to be precise! This should bring the 0-100 km / h time to just 2.1 seconds. A performance that John Hennessey, the founder of the company described as “just crazy”. And he’s right ! As part of the performance upgrade that will cost $ 24,950 (around $ 20,900), the 765LT will be fitted with high-flow air filters and a recalibrated ECU. The model will also be equipped with a new stainless steel exhaust system as well as “specific seals and fluids required”, to withstand the sudden increase in power.

That’s all for the performance changes because the other updates are cosmetic and include “Hennessey” and “HPE1000” badges for the exterior. There will also be plates on the dashboard and on the engine which will be numbered. Just to add a little exclusivity, in case such a supercar with 1,000 horsepower is not enough.

A monstrous monster

As a reminder, the McLaren 765LT is equipped with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that develops 765 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed SSG transmission that allows the British supercar to shift from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.7 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 330 km / h. This has already made her the queen of drag racing in recent weeks.

These figures are therefore already very impressive. But John Hennessey said that “The new 765LT is underestimated in the stock version. We tested it on our in-house test bench and it rather delivered 776 horsepower at the wheels. In other words, it would therefore blithely exceed 800 horsepower.”. But whatever, for Hennessey nothing matters as long as it does not make more than 1,000 horsepower so they’re going to force-feed this supercar to make it evil.
