Five euros are enough, from this Tuesday, April 6, to run electric mechanics. Neither Tesla nor Porsche Taycan, it will obviously be necessary to be satisfied with the cheapest battery-powered car on the market … The unbeatable Dacia Spring is now available for hire for a ticket of 5 per day.
Announced earlier this year, the offer was put in place by the Renault group in partnership with Leclerc. From April 6, 2021, the large-scale distribution group opens reservations for a unique rental offer: no long-term commitment or contribution, for 5 euros per day (maintenance included) for a Dacia Spring, or 6 euros for a Renault Zoé. 3,000 and 1,000 units of each will thus be available, in principle before the summer, in 510 rental agencies located in the brand’s supermarkets. The price of a menu at the golden arch, therefore.
For Spring, this is a preview since private customers ordering in concession will not be delivered until the fall. The operation can therefore act as a promotional offer allowing to set foot in the stirrup to future customers of the small Dacia crossover.
Sacred the cheapest electric car on the market (the Citroën Ami is not authorized to travel on the expressway, it is classified as a motorized quadricycle), the Dacia Spring blows hot and cold: indeed unbeatable by its prices (from 12,403 euros bonus deducted) … and its lap times which are among the slowest in current production (almost 20 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h)! It has also been criticized for its behavior from another age, due to its archaic platform derived from the Indian Renault Kwid.
Grievances that disappear very quickly, put back into the urban context of the car. A framework to which, in essence, the electric is technically padlocked. Would the Spring therefore be the most coherent electric in the world? We will come back to that, we promise.
