Fiat presents a new special “Hey Google” series on the models of the 500 range (500, 500X and 500L), designed in partnership with Google.

While the Italian manufacturer is currently launching the new generation of the Fiat 500 equipped with a 100% electric motor, this does not prevent the family 500 current to continue his career, with the Fiat 500, the 500X crossover and the 500L wagon. This 500 range, sold at more than 3.5 million copies since 2007, is now enriched with a new special series, called “Hey Google” and designed in close association with the Californian firm.

This is nothing new: car manufacturers are collaborating with big names in tech to develop their in-car infotainment systems, making them compatible, for example, with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. But this is the first time that models are dressed in the colors of Google : in fact, the Fiat 500, 500X and 500L “Hey Google” are distinguished by a two-tone white and black livery, specific badges, door pillars in Google colors, as well as specific upholstery, again with dots blues, reds, yellows and greens. The google colors can also be found on the touchscreen of Fiat’s Uconnect infotainment system.

Fiat 500 range (2021): the Google Assistant now interacts with the car

Fiat has integrated theGoogle Assistant to its cars through Mopar Connect services, in order to allow its customers to interact with their car remotely, via an Android smartphone or the Google Nest Hub, a smart connected speaker with a screen , which is also delivered with the car in a “welcome kit” also including a matching key shell, stickers and an owner’s manual.

It is enough then to ask in person “Hey Google, ask my Fiat …” to find out where your Fiat 500 is parked, the fuel level and tire pressure, the location of the nearest Fiat dealership, the car’s mileage, and even the status of the doors and boot locks. It is then possible to lock, unlock or activate the hazard warning lights remotely, and also receive notifications if the car is moving for example.

The new Fiat 500 “Hey Google” family will be marketed in Europe in the following countries: Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland, at rates that have not yet been officially announced.
