Euro NCAP has unveiled its first ratings for the year 2021: the Polestar 2 and the Cupra Formentor obtained the maximum rating of five stars, as well as the Renault Arkana and Lexus UX 300e.

These are two novelties that Euro NCAP has just mistreated, but for a good cause: the new 100% electric sedan Polestar 2 as well as the sports SUV Cupra Formentor have both obtained the maximum score of five stars in the body’s crash tests. European Car Safety Assessment.

In detail, the Polestar 2 obtained a score of 92% in adult protection, 89% in child protection, 80% for vulnerable users, not to mention 86% for driver assistance systems.

The Cupra Formentor For its part, it obtained a score of 93% for adult protection, 88% for child protection, 68% for vulnerable users, as well as 80% for driver assistance systems.

As for the last two models, these have not been subjected to the usual test protocols, but directly inherit the ratings of their original models: indeed, the new Renault Arkana is based on the Captur, and therefore inherits its 2019 five-star rating. It is the same for the new Lexus UX 300e All-electric, which shares its five-star rating with the hybrid version of the Lexus UX, also tested in 2019.
