ECD Automotive Design carried out a restomod on the basis of a Range Rover Classic, which was fitted with a 100% electric Tesla motor of 456 horsepower.

Like many of its ilk, Jaguar Land Rover recently embarked on an electric shift. The British group’s ambition is to have 100% electric Jaguar models by 2025 and 60% zero-emission Land Rover by 2030.

Without waiting for the next few years, ECD Automotive Design, an American specialist in restomods based on old Defender and Range Rover models, has already embarked on its first 100% electric project : a Range Rover Classic animated by a Tesla motor.

Electric Range Rover Classic: 456 electric horsepower

For this unprecedented “Project Ski”, ECD joined forces with the British Electric Classic Cars, which provided it with a strong Tesla engine. 456 horsepower.

Thus equipped, this Range Rover Classic reaches 96 km / h (60 mph) in 5.2 seconds, all with a range up to 354 km thanks to a 100 kWh battery of capacity, which can be recharged in 5 hours. There is also a braking energy recovery system, as well as a limited slip differential.

Aesthetically, this Range Rover Classic has been dressed in a sleek Alpine White tint, contrasting with its black grille and metal front and rear bumpers, all resting on 18-inch rims fitted with Continental Cross Contact tires.

The interior is dressed in tawny leather and receives dark wood inserts on the dashboard. Modernity is ensured by the addition of a 9-inch touchscreen Alpine infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also on the menu: Infinity speakers, automatic switching on of LED lights or a reversing camera.
