Volvo’s big sports car may have a hard time finding its customers in the face of the many references in the current market.

On paper, the Polestar 1 really has it all: an absolutely magnificent design, a powerful engine (600 hp and 1000 Nm of torque) and a luxurious interior. But a more precise study of the characteristics of this machine assembled in China also reveals some delicate points: its mass of 2.3 tons is on the level of that of a Bentley Continental GT. And its hybrid engine includes as only thermal engine a four-cylinder turbo 2.0 liters and 340 horsepower. It also costs 155,000 €.

At this price, it therefore finds itself faced with large 2 + 2 GTs like the BMW M8 and real sports cars like the Aston Martin Vantage or the Mercedes-AMG GT. Cars all equipped with extraordinary engines, where the Polestar 1 composes with a small four-cylinder electrified.

Delicate choice

This is why Matt Watson has a mixed opinion on this Polestar 1 which offers a very relative driving pleasure compared to its competitors at the same price. Remember that the car will only be marketed to 1,500 copies worldwide.
