BMW opens orders for its new iX electric SUV on the French market. The rival of the Tesla Model X and Audi e-tron starts at 86,250 €.
Unveiled at the end of November 2020, the iX is now available on the French market ! BMW has just opened the order book for its large 100% electric SUV, rival of the Tesla Model X and other Audi e-tron.
Two versions of the iX at launch
For its launch, the model is available in two versions: xDrive40 and xDrive50.
The xDrive40 version is the entry level. It is equipped with two electric motors (one per axle) and offers a total power of more than 300 hp for a 0 to 100 km / h shot in just over 6 seconds. It also has a 70 kWh battery, placed in the floor, for a range of more than 400 km according to the WLTP cycle. The car’s maximum load capacity is 150 kW, which allows 90 km of range to be recovered in 10 minutes.
The xDrive50 version, still equipped with two electric units, develops for its part a total power of more than 500 hp and announces an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 5 seconds. The capacity of its battery increases to more than 100 kWh and its range to more than 600 kilometers. Thus armed, the SUV can recharge its high-voltage battery up to 200 kW and recover 120 km of range in 10 minutes.
In both cases, the charge of the high voltage battery can be increased from 10 to 80% of its total capacity in less than 40 minutes.
A price close to that of the X5 xDrive45e plug-in hybrid
On the price side, BMW displays the iX xDrive40 from € 86,250, what places it the level of X5 xDrive45e plug-in hybrid, invoiced 84,350 € and operated by 394 ch. The xDrive50 version requires at least € 103,500. The launch of BMW iX is scheduled for the end of 2021.
