The manufacturer at the Rings took advantage of its annual conference to announce a newcomer to its range of electric SUVs with the Q6 e-tron.
We must admit that there is something to get lost in the Audi range. In terms of size, the Q6 should logically find its place between the Q5 and the Q7. But the manufacturer also plans to launch a Q5 Sportback and then a Q5 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron in fact will play the role of an electric Coupe SUV. It derives from the e-tron quattro concept presented in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. We were also able to see a prototype version at the last Geneva Motor Show.
20 electric models by 2025
For the moment nothing official, but the Q6 e-tron should logically resume the mechanics of the e-tron and e-tron S models (also offered in Sportback versions) namely two asynchronous electric motors (one per axle) developing a combined power of 313 hp, 408 hp and even 500 hp depending on the version.
The Q6 will be the first 100% electric model assembled at the Ingolstadt plant in Germany. Its commercial launch should take place by 2022.
