Released last year, the new generation of the Land Rover Defender expands its range with a new 525 horsepower V8 version.
Did you know the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Supercharged with their compressed 5.0 V8? Now it’s time for the Land Rover Defender V8 inheriting the same engine with a power of 525 horsepower and 625 Nm of torque.
This is not the first time that the “Def” has welcomed a V8 under its hood since the last Works V8 version of its previous generation had already used this type of engine. Except this time around, the Defender is quite simply the most powerful and fastest in history with a 0 to 100 km / h shot in just 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 240 km / h.
An optimized chassis
Obviously, given the size and aerodynamics of the large British 4×4, many structural changes had to be made to ensure the best driving experience. The suspension adopts, for example, springs and shock absorbers with revised calibration, a new electronically controlled active rear differential also appears and the anti-roll bars have been optimized.
Last technical elements, the sound of the exhaust has been improved for even more musicality and the Terrain Response all-wheel drive control system benefits from an additional dynamic driving mode.
Meaner in style
Such a ramage deserved a plumage to the height. The designers therefore added the V8 logo at the bottom of the front doors, of course they added 4 tailpipes and specific 22-inch rims revealing blue brake calipers.
The interior has not been forgotten either with an exclusive upholstery with inserts and trim, all in satin black finish. The steering wheel is dressed in Alcantara with chrome paddles and leather on many other elements. Finally, an even more exclusive version called the Carpathian Edition adds specific elements such as a protective film covering the entire body.
